Sunshine, Stories, and School Kits: A CSR Day to Remember

There’s something truly special about a room full of kindergartners buzzing with excitement! For our latest CSR Day at the Barangay East Rembo Covered Court, we got to be right in the middle of it all.

Last March 30, 2026, in partnership with Barangay East Rembo, Phitopolis organized a joint storytelling and gift-giving event for the young students of Barangay East Rembo and Phitopolis’ own community. The summer sun was already warm overhead when our team arrived early that morning to set up, but the warmth we felt inside throughout the day was something else entirely.

The program opened with a prayer and the national anthem, followed by heartfelt words from Kapitana Thelma Ramirez and our company representative. Then came the moment the kids had been waiting for: storytime. Their teacher-turned-storyteller worked the crowd beautifully, weaving a tale that had little eyes wide with wonder. Before long, the children were bouncing in their seats and singing along as “Golden” played in the background.

Then it was time for the main event. One by one, the students lined up, some rushing into line, others peeking curiously at the neat, clear cases waiting for them. Each school kit was packed with everything a young learner needs: notebooks, crayons, pencils, erasers, rulers, sharpeners, and even glue sticks. Our team had spent the week prior carefully preparing a hundred of these kits, and handing them over to such eager little hands made every minute of that prep worth it. A few kids even got to choose their favorite notebook color, a small detail that made the biggest difference to them.

After the gift-giving, the barangay treated everyone to a spread of snacks, and the smiles kept coming.

We headed back to the office that afternoon with full hearts. These moments remind us why community matters, and why we show up, year after year, to play our small part in it.

Until the next CSR Day!
